How Dog Training Can Benefit Your Companion
Dog training is a great way for you and your canine to bond while they learn new commands, tricks, and develop trust in you as their owner, strengthening your relationship. Training provides your pet with mental stimulation and helps build confidence in various situations, leading to better behavior and a happier, more well-adjusted dog. Training can also help you handle any unwanted behavioral issues like reactivity, aggression or anxiety. Our dog training programs are customized to meet your pet’s specific needs, making the process more effective and less stressful for both of you while achieving your training goals.

Behavior Consults
Our dog training program begins with behavior consultations for your companion. We offer both phone and in-person consultations where our professional trainer can answer any questions regarding your dog’s behavior and assess your pet’s needs. A phone consultation is 15-30 minutes with our trainer to discuss your pet’s situation. An in-person consultation allows our trainer to assess your dog’s behavior and create a written training plan tailored to their unique needs.
Level 1
Our trainer will work with your dog to establish the strong basic skills necessary to handle behavioral issues such as obedience, reactivity, aggression, or anxiety.
Level 2
Dogs will build on what they’ve learned in level one and grow in their confidence in a variety of situations they may encounter in their daily lives.
Level 3
The final level of Day Training is the maintenance phase in which our trainer continues practicing obedience, good manners and behaviors while adding fun activities to the training such as swimming, tricks, scent work, agility, and socializing.

Puppy Package
Our puppy package was created to focus on dogs under 6 months of age and can be broken up into day training, private lessons, or a combination of both. This is a crucial time to ensure your puppy has proper socialization, basic obedience skills, and to resolve any behavioral issues that may arise. Our goal is to set your puppy up for success, so you both can live happy and harmonious lives together.

Dog Training Requirements
All dogs in our training program must have updated vaccinations on file. If your dog is new to Midwest Animal Hospital, please bring their vaccination records so we can have them on file. Dogs must be fully vaccinated, have a negative annual fecal test, and complete an exam with one of our veterinarians prior to their first training session.
